These images show the proposed sidewalk design on Scholls Ferry Road, between Laurelwood and 77th avenues. We are coordinating with Beaverton School District about their upcoming plans to reconstruct Raleigh Hills K-8 Elementary School. We will adjust our sidewalk design to comply with their plans for the new school. The images are subject to revision as the design advances.

Four alternative designs are proposed to fill in the sidewalk gaps:

Alternative 1

This option features a 5-foot wide sidewalk width and maintains the existing 12-foot wide travel and center lanes on Scholls Ferry Road. Some right-of-way acquisition may be needed, as well as the loss of one parking spot in the Raleigh Hills Apartment parking lot.

Alternative 2

This option features a 5-foot wide sidewalk width and reduces travel and center lanes to 11 feet, with a possible realignment of the existing bike lane. There are fewer impacts to the right-of-way and the Raleigh Hills Apartment parking lot remains as-is.

Alternative 3

This option features a 5-foot wide sidewalk width and maintains the existing 12-foot wide center lane on Scholls Ferry Road. The travel lanes would be reduced to 11 feet wide. A realignment of the bike lane is also possible. There are fewer impacts to the right-of-way and the Raleigh Hills Apartment parking lot remains as-is.

Alternative 4

This option features a 6-foot wide sidewalk width and maintains the 12-foot wide center lane on Scholls Ferry Road. The travel lanes would be reduced to 11 feet wide. Some right-of-way impacts are possible, the bike lane would be realigned and there will likely be the loss of one parking spot in the Raleigh Hills Apartment parking lot.
